I want to be competative shooters.

I love Airsoft, Practical Shooting - IPSC / IDPA , 300m Free Rifle, Skeet and Trap Shooting. If you live in Malaysia, especially in the Klang Valley, Selangor Shooting Association is the best choice. The Subang Shooting Range, home to the National Shooting Association of Malaysia (NSAM) and the Selangor Shooting Association (SSA) is set to the best in the country. Situated just 1.8km off the Subang Airport (Kuala Lumpur international airport old) to learn more about the SSA please visit their website. Selangor Shooting Association .

Besides Selangor Shooting Association are also a number of other shooting clubs like Klang Shooting Club / Kelab Penembak Bandar Diraja Klang, Kajang Shooting Club / Kelab Menembak Kajang (KMK) and City Square Shooting Gallery.

Airsoft? In Malaysia, I would say “not yet” although I keep on feeling that it is impossible but as an enthusiast of this sport I have to say “plausible”. Referring to Malaysian Law, Airsofts are considered illegal. Back in 2007, there are movement to introduce and maybe legalized this sports lead by Malaysian Airsoft Association (MASOC). At first there are many positive responds over Airsoft and MASOC already waiting approval from the related authorities but yet thing turn 180 degree and back to square one. In mid 2008 till end 2009, a lot of report by local news on airsoft raid done by the police. Since then there are no more news on Airsoft Movement or MASOC. read more on External Link..

MASOC on Facebook.com by me
MASOC on Local Malaysian News Paper.

Until recently there was another club or association, called themself as Airsoft Shooting Club / Kelab Menembak Airsoft, may try to continue the movement for the legalisation of Airsoft. Airsoft shooting club to make an unofficial statement that they are in the process of sending the proposal to the relevant parties. They also claim to have been in contact with the authorities (Royal Malaysian Police and the Malaysian Ministry of State Security) for their advice, opinions and support. I'm still not sure of their direction, but I admit that I am not entitled nor qualified to judge or criticize this movement. I just hope Airsoft Shooting Club , will try to find the best way to realizing their campaign for the legalisation. My stance at the moment is to wait and see. I do not want to support blindly without evaluating its own truth behind their claims. If their claims are true that they are in business to promote airsoft through legal channels and certified by a legitimate authority. I'm ready to support them. more on them... IPSC Malaysia to open IPSC Action Air.

As we know, Action Air competition has been provisionally approved by IPSC since the start of 2010 (or earlier). However, IPSC Malaysia currently does not sanction Action Air matches in Malaysia. Airsoft replica ownership is illegal in Malaysia without proper firearm license, but it is still impossible to obtain a firearm license to own airsoft replicas since no shooting clubs could support airsoft shooting as a sport.

Compared to genuine firearms, airsoft replicas are generally more cost effective to own and run and some can offer a good amount of realism. It is therefore practical to introduce Action Air in Malaysia. And in my opinion, there are no disadvantages in allowing this sport into Malaysia, there are only significant benefits to be gained.
